We are pleased to announce the availability of Ivy version 1.4-RC2.

Ivy is an agile java based dependency manager, with powerful features such as transitive dependencies, an outstanding flexibility, ant integration, maven repository compatibility, continuous integration, html reports and many more.

Besides its strong dependency management engine, Ivy also benefits from an always growing user community, a public repository of common ivy files, and from the source professional quality services.

This second release candidate contains several bug fixes since the first release candidate.

The 1.4 version of Ivy will be a major version with more than 90 new features, improvements and bug fixes since 1.3.1.

A new and noteworthy page is available on the site giving a good overview of the most notable changes since 1.3.1.

For a small taste of what is waiting for you:
* better flexibility, with extra attributes, pluggable version matchers, events, triggers, changing patterns, ...
* improved ease of use, with a tutorial not even requiring to install Ivy manually, inline dependencies, url setting directly on the artifact for emergency cases, ...
* a set of new repositories supported, ssh, sftp, webdav, ...
* improved stability and QA, with more than 30 bug fixes, checksum verification of downloaded files, a setting to ensure you always have an ivy file for all your modules, ...
* several module configurations enhancement, like the possibility to disable transitivity for a whole configuration
* more repository management tools, including a new repository report able to generate of graph of dependencies between all or part of all your modules in your repository
* and much more !

As usual, documentation has been updated to help use all those new features.
